Brainstorming Ideas: Level 2

ObjectiveTo brainstorm ideas
Description brainstorm

Brainstorming is a great way to get your most creative, interesting and exciting ideas down on paper. Possible topics for brain storming could include:

  • Coming up with ideas for a play or story.
  • Thinking of things to do when your bored.
  • Dreaming up your own business.
  • Imagining new inventions.
  • Thinking about how to solve a problem.

Here is a great brain storming activity.

Materials:

piece of paper, a pen, a highlighter, and a timer.

Steps:

1. Set your timer for sixty seconds, and when you're ready press 'start'.

2. For sixty seconds list every idea that pops into your mind.

Remember:

  • Don't Stop,
  • Don't Evaluate, (no idea is too crazy and none of your ideas are stupid!!)
  • Don't Leave Anything Out

3. When the timer goes off, read what you have written. Cross-out any ideas that you don't like, circle any ideas you kind of like, and highlight the ideas that you really like. Place a star next to one or two ideas you really, really like.

4. Remember, you can always save your ideas for another time. If you get stuck trying to pick an idea, ask a friend or family member which one they like best and why.
