Create a Plot Outline

ObjectiveTo create a plot outline for a story, play or movie.
Description thinking cap

If you want to create a short story, a play or movie script it helps to have a plot outline before you begin writing your story.

There are 5 parts to a plot outline:

  1. Initial Incident (Beginning)
  2. Rising Action
  3. Climax
  4. Falling Action
  5. Resolution (End)

There are a few additional elements that will help you create a more interesting and exciting story. You will want to include characters (you need a good guy and a bad guy), conflict (what is the main problem), and setting (where does the story take place?).

Take a look at the attachments section for a printable plot outline.
